A Seafront Walk

Silloth seafront stretches all the way from the port to Skinburness. So we decided to take in the sea air and see if we could make it to the end of the coastal path.
We set off from Seabreeze, took a left from the front of the cottage and headed for the seafront. Within moments we were at the lifeboat station and turned right onto the promenade. We were lucky that the rain held off and the breeze wasn't too cold.
We passed the fairy trail, pagoda on the hill and the amusement arcade, and we could even see the sails of the pirate ship from the play area. Soon we passed the tennis courts, football pitch and we gave a wave to the Big Fella.
We noted how there was gym equipment positioned along all this stretch of the promenade and we couldn't help but stop for a little workout on the way.
We passed the BMX cycle track before heading out of town towards Skinburness. We were lucky that lots of Seagulls were out and about watching us, so we gave them a 'hello' as we passed.
Before long, we passed the lighthouse at Skinburness and then took the walk closer to the sea, with the sea barrier separating us from the road. By now, we were very much alone and it was peaceful so we took time to stop and stare out to sea over to Scotland.
The path then took us past the gorgeous green house up in Skinburness, if you ever take this walk then you will know which one I mean because it's stunning and has a perfect view out to sea. After this, it wasn't long before we reached the end of the path and we could either continue on towards Grune Point or head back. The sky was going a little dark and the wind had picked up so it was decided to take the path inland and head back to town. There was a path heading to the side of the houses, so we cut through and made our journey back to Silloth.
The walk took us about 1.5 hours and was well worth leaving the warmth of Seabreeze to enjoy the fresh air and views. On the way back, we popped into the holiday park and enjoyed a brew and some cake, but if you have the furry ones with you, then head over to Fairydust and treat them to a Puppachino.
All in all, it was a great afternoon. Maisie didn't join us on this walk as she had already enjoyed a morning beach walk and refused to leave her bed but maybe next time she can join us.
We hope you enjoy getting out and about during your next stay at Seabreeze and if you need any recommendations, just let us know.
