Brayton Park

It was time for a day out with Barry and Bernadette, so we all hopped in the car and off we went to Brayton Park.

It's about a 20 minute drive from Silloth, and apart from Gary driving straight past, even commenting to Barry that 'there's Brayton Park', it was fairly easy to find.

There's ample parking and you can park right by the Butchers shop, so not far to walk with your bag of goodies.

This shop was quite small, but filled with everything you could want, from joints of beef, pork chops and burgers, to cheesecake, eggs or chilled, fresh, ready meals.

We picked up some beef for a Sunday roast, plus sausages, eggs, bacon and pickled onions, Gary also chose a large sausage roll that would easily feed 4 people!

Barry and Bernadette picked up a pie for supper, plus some sausages for a butty.

The service was excellent and we were out in no time at all, I even managed to grab a photo with the butcher before leaving.

We had a quick explore before leaving as there's a golf course there too.  This is run on an honesty system, where you pop your money into an envelope and post it into a box. All the info and prices can be found on their website for those wishing to enjoy a round.

We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Silloth, the eggs, bacon and sausages were well worth the visit and Barry and Bernadette really enjoyed the pie.

One final important note, this butchers now stocks Mawbray Cheese, which we absolutely love so we'll let you know what we pick up next time we visit.
